Healthy Holidays? Oxymoron or attainable goal?
Nov 29, 2011Once you hit Thanksgiving, it is like greased lightening until Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa and all of the other December holidays rap on your door. I love sweets, but I take a few measures to add a dose of health to each day in an easy way.
1) Brassica Decaf Green Tea - I make a pot of tea every morning. I have one cup hot, and then pour the rest into a pitcher and put it in the fridge. I get bored of water but shun soda, so iced decaf green tea is the perfect beverage. If I dose in a tiny bit of honey, it gives my sweet tooth a little break.

4 Tbsp unsalted butter
2 medium yellow onions, chopped
2 teaspoons minced garlic
1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
2 teaspoons curry powder
1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
Pinch ground cayenne pepper (optional)
3 (15 oz) cans 100 percent pumpkin or 6 cups of chopped roasted pumpkin*
